Sun Hotel Taiyoso

I only stayed overnight and didn't order meals, so I'm looking forward to coming back and trying them next time. My room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable view. It really was the best, and I'm sorry for any trouble caused during my stay. Thank you very much.

After a long time away, I came back to Himakajima and was so disappointed. I've stayed in plenty of places, but dinner was really skimpy, and breakfast was the worst I've ever had. The bathroom doorknob was broken and my child got locked inside, which was awful. At 23,000 yen per person, unbelievable. I won't come back.

We came from Nagoya as a group of about 30 for a fugu lunch, but I felt we would have been better off eating in Nagoya. Even without the milt, it worked out to around 20,000 yen per person, and we left the island after lunch without much chance to relax. They charged 3300 yen for milt and priced the octopus at market rate, so the per-person cost went up. The usual sashimi and hot pot were served, but at some tables the stove gas ran out almost as soon as we started and had to be replaced halfway through. The staff barely smiled, and service wasn't great. What a shame.

I've been here twice now. It's up on a hill, so walking from the port takes a bit, but the shuttle makes that no problem. The food deserves 7-8 stars, and the service and hospitality are a full 10. I really enjoyed the meal. Hope this place stays open for a long time. Thanks for the delicious food!
