The inn is a bit far from the bus station, though you can still walk there. The rooms are clean and large, the bed is really comfortable, and the common area is nice. I tried all the different onsen areas, and they were all pretty good. It’s very quiet at night. Staff can speak English, at least well enough to say a complete sentence. There’s really nothing to complain about, except maybe the price. It’s kind of expensive, though other inns are too.

Our first night, we were the only guests. The room was huge, with plenty of room for our luggage, and the gentleman who helped us spoke great English. The staff were exceptionally hospitable. We’d read reviews suggesting the extra $16/ person for breakfast was worthwhile, and we’re glad we paid it. They made everything fresh that morning: an incredible three-course meal with green smoothies and homemade pastries. It kept us full until dinner. Guests can also use the onsens across the street. I’d highly recommend this inn for a romantic getaway.

The breakfast was good and the service was good too. We checked in around 4pm and were told we wouldn’t need to reserve a family bath because there were “plenty of them.” But all the rooms were occupied, and we ended up waiting 30 minutes.

The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was very good. It’s a beautiful, comfortable place to stay in Furokawaonsen. Highly recommended.

I really like the vibe here. The rooms are clean, and the Okami (the female manager of Ryokan) is kind.
