The hotel has attentive service and only a small number of rooms. My first stay left me with a bad impression: around 4 a.m., a false fire alarm announcement woke me up, and it was awful. I came back only because the hotel across the street was fully booked. Even so, the hospitality really is a strong point.
Getting here from Takasaki Station is easy, and the location is great. The elevator is between the first and second floors, in the middle of the building. The hotel occupies floors 10 through 12, with the lobby on 10.
I later checked the room types and found that the one I booked doesn't even come in a non-smoking version. They changed my reservation to a smoking room and made no effort to find me another non-smoking option, whether an upgrade or downgrade. They also offered nothing to make up for the inconvenience.
Breakfast was very good, and the room was clean with a roomy bathroom. The location was great too.
