Oyado Noshiyu Onsen Ryokan

Our stay was peaceful and restorative, and the staff showed us so much kindness and care. The food was outstanding, and every detail helped make the experience unforgettable. With advance notice, the chef kindly adjusted some of the meat dishes for a pescatarian diet. If you’re looking for traditional Japanese hospitality, you shouldn’t miss this. Truly phenomenal.

The food was delicious, especially the chicken pot and rice with yamaimo (mountain yam). Service felt very warm and caring, and the staff spoke English well. We had a private onsen in our room that was clean and comfortable, and also tried the public open-air baths, which were good too.

The ryokan has a lovely atmosphere, the onsens are beautifully landscaped, and the food was delicious and presented beautifully. The staff were very accommodating, and some spoke very good English, which helped even though I tried my best Japanese. I had one of the most pleasant hotel stays I can remember. It was incredibly relaxing, and I plan to return. If you’re considering a trip to Kyushu, I strongly recommend it. Can’t recommend it enough.

A wonderful stay in Kurokawa Onsen. The facilities and service were even better than I expected. The garden at Kurokawa Onsen Oyado Noshiyu was stunningly calm and zen, with birds chirping.
