Resort Inn Fujiwara

Our room was very spacious, but the lack of housekeeping was a huge disappointment. We paid about 10,000 yen a night for four nights and had to tidy and clean the room ourselves after tiring days of skiing. Each day, they only removed the trash and replaced the towels. They didn’t straighten the bedding or clean the floor, and we weren’t told until we arrived that there’d be no room cleaning or tidying. At that price, the service didn’t feel worth it.

Meals were different each day, and the staff even made special food for my son because of his allergies. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. This is a quiet, high-end guesthouse, close to both the North Exit and Central Exit. A car would make getting around even easier. I’d highly recommend it for families who need plenty of space.

What stood out was how kind everyone was, from the front desk staff to the chef. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the service was excellent for such a small hotel. I’d read reviews saying there was no welcome drink, but there was coffee and biscotti by the entrance. I spent several nights there during heavy snowfall, and the umbrella and boot rentals were a huge help since I had short boots. The slopes are right in front, but the route up to the north lift wasn’t groomed. That’s convenient for adults, though it could be difficult for families with small kids, so I took a star off for the location. Otherwise, I think it’s a very good value and I have almost no complaints.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and I could see beautiful snow as soon as I opened the window. The surroundings were very clean, and the service was excellent.
