A sensational view, and such a wonderful place with real passion behind it.

The campsite and scenery really do look like they do in the Laid-Back Camp movie. I'd heard it was used as a model location, so I drove over to see it. The steel-frame campsite is away from the Nature Village, not inside it, something I only learned after talking to the woman at the village reception. I told her I wanted to look around the grounds, and she kindly figured out what I meant, then showed me the spot on a pamphlet. It was lovely of her to help when I was only there for a look. From the Nature Village, I followed the pamphlet and drove for about five minutes along a narrow mountain road before the campsite appeared. The roads are tight, and the route to the steel-frame site is narrower still, so meeting oncoming traffic could be tricky. In that setting it feels like a hidden campground, especially if you haven't seen the movie. You can see the summit of Mt. Shizan, though not the whole mountain, and there's no artificial noise to be heard. That's the kind of place that makes camping feel right. The campsite's atmosphere matched the movie, and the steel-frame structure was just as I'd hoped. There were lots of overnight guests that day, so I stayed in the parking lot to avoid getting in anyone's way. I didn't go into the grounds or take pictures, but it's well worth seeing from a visit. The Nature Village and the steel-frame campsite each have parking, though spaces might run out when they're busy. If you stop by just to look, be considerate of staff and other guests. Don't linger, and skip the visit if it's crowded. Just looking around isn't always welcome at a facility. Why not experience the world of Yuru Camp△ for yourself?

I loved being able to camp in nature, away from everyday life. There's hardly any cell reception, and the drive can be rough in spots if you're not used to mountain roads, so be ready for that. The campsites are spacious, which made for a comfortable stay. I came because of the Laid-Back Camp movie, and the steel frame was the only part that matched what I saw on screen. At checkout, the receptionist told us about several Minobu-area attractions, and we had a great time sightseeing afterward. I'd recommend the place to anyone who wants a nature-focused camping trip.

I managed to snag a spot at the steel-frame site for the night of July 20th. The site normally closes on Wednesdays, but it was open daily during summer vacation and still had availability. Even on a weekday, other people had come to the Birdcage Site from the Laid-Back Camp Delta movie. The atmosphere felt just like Laid-Back Camp Delta, and it was a wonderful place to camp. I could even see the top of Mt. Fuji. Under the stars and moon, it felt as if Shima Rin were in a planetarium. The reception area's baths were free for campers. For COVID-19 precautions, each group reserved a private bathing time, so it was easy to relax. The site has been fully renovated. It looks quaint from the outside but is spotless and pleasant inside. Staff were friendly, and the older man who lives in a house on the mountain site was kind too. He shared local stories and told me how the steel-frame site came to be. Finding the place was the hard part. I found the pamphlet directions more reliable than car navigation, so follow those. Next time, I'm thinking of staying at the Yuzu site.
