Minoosansou Kazenomori

The wi-fi was a little weak, but we didn’t mind since the ryokan was such a relaxing place. There’s a lovely terrace with a view of Osaka, and the suite’s open-air bath was amazing. The room had tatami floors and a breathtaking view too. A complimentary drinks counter offered homemade yuzu juice and wine. The food was delicious, the rooms were superb, and the staff were incredibly friendly and kind. I’d definitely recommend this ryokan!

The view of Osaka city is breathtaking, and the staff were nice and very polite. But our two twin rooms both smelled like car exhaust, and since the hotel was full, we had to sleep in them. They couldn’t fix the problem right away, though I hope they arranged an inspection and repair after we checked out. At this price, I didn’t expect that kind of quality. My twin room was relatively small compared with hotels or ryokan in the suburbs. It had a toilet but no bathroom.

The view from the hotel is amazing, both in the morning and at night. The rooms and service were great, and you can rent a private bathing room for an hour for ¥3,000. It has a shower as well as an onsen. Dining times are scheduled because they prepare the food fresh. One downside is the soundproofing: noises next door, even a door opening or toilet flushing, came through pretty clearly. Don’t walk here from Minoh Station. Spend a bit on a taxi instead. I ended up with sore feet, and my spouse was traumatized by the walk.

Our booking included 45 minutes in the private open-air onsen, and it was a great experience. The view was good, and the staff were kind and helpful.
