Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Seiryu Satoyama Park

At night, the hotel in the park feels kind of dark. The spot is great, right next to the park, but the nearby roads can be confusing. I took a few wrong turns, ended up on the highway, and had to pay a toll and drive for 20 minutes, so be careful around there.

It's really quiet here since the hotel sits inside a park, which is nice, though there's not much nearby, so be ready to go out for meals. The lobby is small but cozy, and the hotel is in good shape. There's a kitchenette with coffee, plus a toaster oven, microwave, and ice machine, but that's about it.

The remote location may be inconvenient if you're using public transport. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable, with more space than is typical in Japan, comfortable beds, and spotless bathrooms. Staff were warm and attentive, and check-in and check-out went smoothly. I've stayed at Marriott properties on several continents, and this Fairfield by Marriott near Satoyama Park feels reliable and good value, especially for families or people exploring Gifu Castle and Sekigahara.

This Fairfield by Marriot sits beside a Japan roadstation that's actually a park, with sightseeing and sports activities for adults and kids. It seems like a nice place for families to spend a weekend away. There weren't many staff around, but they were polite and attentive. The person who checked us in patiently explained breakfast and lunch options, along with a nearby japanese bath, or onsen. We really enjoyed that onsen.
