Snow Peak YAKEI SUITE ABURAYAMA FUKUOKA

The staff were so nice and the service was good. Lovely place 🧡 It was a hot day, though, and the tent's air conditioning could use some improvement.

The setting is only about 30 minutes from Fukuoka, with hiking and bike trails nearby, including electric bikes, plus horseback riding, forest ziplines, a net course, and plenty of farm-themed activities for kids. The DIY camping area is next door and family-friendly, while Yatei suites is a quiet area for adults. I stayed in cottage 2, a small, simple, spotless wooden cabin with two twin beds and a sofa bed. The bedroom and living/dining space blend indoors and outdoors, and there’s a private healing sauna with a view and an outdoor cold plunge with gently bubbling water. My only room complaints were the quite hard mattress and uncomfortable pillows. The one villa, three cottages, and 10 Yatei suites tents all fit naturally into the surroundings. The style was designed by Tanijiri Makoto of SUPPOSE DESIGN OFFICE. Service was great, especially from the guy from Itoshima who checked me in and set up dinner in one of the tents. Dinner there was a fun, gourmet experience. The food was prepared, so all I had to do was grill or heat it up. I don't even cook instant noodles at home, but the equipment was super easy to use, and everything was seasonal and tasty. Afterward there was local spirits at the Tabiki tent as well as stargazing, and the minibar had complimentary bottles of wine. It was $663 for half board. A perfect mix of service, relaxation, and glamping, 5/5.

The food was great, the service was top-notch, and the whole experience was superb. There’s plenty to do nearby, and you get to feel surrounded by nature without being far from the city.

Good food, lovely place, and nice service. I'd definitely come back, highly recommend it.
