Hotel Select Inn Mishima

The staff spoke English, and the location was good. It’s a small hotel.

Getting here from Mishima, the main train station, is quite a long walk. The room was so cramped there was barely space to walk beside the bed, and there wasn’t a closet for clothes or bags. The carpet was stained and looked grubby. The bathroom was tiny, with the washbasin only about two feet off the ground, and there wasn’t room to bend down to it. I ended up washing and brushing in the shower. 😟 Definitely not worth what I paid.

We had a roof over our heads and a hard bed, and I was thankful to have somewhere to stay, but it smelled strongly of cigarettes. The carpets were stained and there was black mould in the bathroom. I wouldn’t choose to come back. There are cold drinks for sale in the vending machine downstairs, and they handed out free travel hairbrushes. I managed about five hours of sleep.

Nothing fancy, just a standard small room with few options. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s a bus stop, train station, and tourist attraction nearby. Plenty around too, including a good sushi restaurant, a supermarket, and other places to eat.
