We had a Japanese-style room with a direct view across the sea to Mount Fuji. It was on the small side, but worked well for two adults and our large dog. Dinner was the limited-time fugu course, tasty and filling. Our dog ate the boiled chicken fillet and special dog ehomaki, along with the food we brought. The ehomaki used komatsuna instead of nori. I’d worried that it might be hard for a senior dog to digest, but it was fine. The floors are slippery and could use some improvement. Our dog doesn’t like stairs, so I had to ask for help carrying him up and down. There are stairs throughout the building and no elevators, but we still had a comfortable stay.

I stayed here with my dog on a trip to Yokosuka. It’s a great place for dogs, and the service was good. The building and rooms are old, but the food was delicious. I just wish it cost a bit less.

The full Japanese dinner was incredibly good, and that alone makes the inn worth a visit. The staff were also lovely with our mixed-breed dog, unlike some places where they’ve been dismissive of mixed breeds. Our dog hates the sea, though, so it was hard to find walks away from the beach, and he wouldn’t even go in the pool, lol. The dog run seems suited to small dogs, and the stairs leading to it felt steep and a bit scary. The corridors and stairs are slippery for older dogs, so we’d come back if they added some grip. Getting there was a bit confusing too. Parking is prohibited on Jogashima Island, so you have to park elsewhere and walk, which is tough in the heat with a medium-sized dog. It might be easier in the warmer autumn and winter months. Our car navigation stopped directing us halfway across the bridge because the inn is under it. After the bridge, pass Jogashima Park; the inn is on the right where the road straightens after a bend. Coming from the end of Jogashima, the sign is easy to miss.

We went for lunch with our large dog, and it was great to be able to sit inside while it was still so hot. Dogs are allowed in, and they even made a tuna bowl for ours! Next time we’d like to stay overnight and try some water activities.

The facility is older, but the staff were really friendly and took wonderful care of my dog. I could bring my dog into the changing room for the private bath and relax there. The food was delicious too, especially the nigiri sushi at dinner and the negima hotpot. I’d happily come back just to eat again.
