We were hiking the Michinoku Coastal Trail and stayed one night. The room was simple, but clean, and the view was lovely. Staff were kind from check-in through the rest of our visit. Free laundry was a nice surprise. We weren’t sure what to expect from dinner, but the food was good, and there were more guests than we’d imagined. Breakfast was good too. It’s a huge, rather old building, and it was very quiet in the off season. We liked our stay and would come back.

The pool wasn’t open during our visit, which was a shame. Otherwise, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the views were wonderful, the food was good, and the staff were helpful and accommodating.

I enjoyed unwinding here, taking in the scenery, the hot water, and sometimes the rain. Forest, sea, gulls, and people out playing sports all surround the place, near the Shiokaze Michinoku Trail. I saw plenty of ojichan walking around the grounds, as if they were checking the place out as future retirement homes. Seems like a good investment to me.

The seafood they serve is tasty and fresh, though the portions are too big for women and older people. It’s a reasonably priced hotel, but some of the facilities are a little dated.
