Some staff were kind, but others kept forgetting guest requests and making mistakes. The bathroom smelled awful, and breakfast was poor quality. I’d heard this used to be a high-class hotel, but it feels very old and poorly maintained now. I really don’t recommend staying here. If you’re in Odate, I’d choose another hotel. It’s sad to say, but I don’t want anyone else to have the experience I had.

My room did have a shower, but guests with tattoos weren’t allowed to use the public baths. That was the only downside for me.

The front desk staff were polite and friendly, and the rooms were spacious and clean despite the dated facilities. I liked being able to relax in the large bath on the fifth floor, with room to stretch out. There’s also a convenience store nearby. Parking may cost extra depending on your booking plan, so it’s best to check ahead.

For remote work, the internet here was stress-free. The connection was fast and stable, which is more than I can say for the WiFi at a lot of places that advertise it. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for business use.

It seems like taxis are usually waiting outside even on weekdays, so the distance from Higashidaikan station shouldn’t make getting around too difficult. The building looks old, though the rooms were clean, and there’s a small souvenir shop. With a supermarket and hot spring nearby, it works well for business travelers who just need a room.
