Beach House Miyakojima

We had a great three-night stay in Miyakojima. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and patient. One woman at the hotel spoke Chinese very well.

The front desk team and house cleaners were friendly, and our room on the 11th floor was very spacious. Still, there were several cleanliness and upkeep issues: dark brownish spots between the tiles, what looked like water damage on the ceiling, and old spills on the wall beside a bed. The elevators were scuffed, and there was dust and dirt around the AC vents by them. The pool photos also gave a somewhat misleading idea of how it looks in person. I wasn't too bothered by the dirt, but enough to take off a star. It was okay overall, and you can judge for yourself if those things don't bother you.

The hotel is a little older, and the beds felt slightly firmer than the usual American standard, though we slept fine. We stayed a few days and liked the ocean view from our room, the tasty breakfast with lots of local ingredients and ice cream, and the kind staff. Restaurants, cafes, and a convenience store are all within walking distance, and it's easy to find since everyone knows where it is. Parking is free and easy, and there's a small store and souvenir shop inside.

It's a comfortable, peaceful place that felt worth the affordable price for a good three-star hotel. Seems suited to a vacation or a business trip. There's a port right behind it that cruise ships often visit. ✨
