Cheese, the shop's mascot dog, is incredibly cute. The couple who run the shop are lovely.

The dog really soothed me, and it's a friendly, charming one that gets along easily with everyone. This place is great for dog lovers, or for anyone looking for something between a guesthouse and a luxury hotel. A car is essential here, though it's easy to reach Miyako city, both airports, the three major bridges, and the islands by car. Big supermarkets and hospitals are nearby, which I found convenient. It's a quiet, peaceful location, and the main attractions are easy to get to.

I stayed three nights and four days on my first winter trip to Miyako Island and had a great time. I later found a one-way ANA ticket for 7000 yen and came back for another 33 nights in April. It's a very convenient setup, and a mall with MaxValu and places like Yappari Steak is close. The bar district takes a bit of walking to reach. You take care of your own plans here, which suited me. The room is spacious, with a large fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and electric kettle. The lobby has chopsticks, plates, paper cups, instant coffee, a water cooler, and towels for outdoor activities. There's also an outdoor hot-water wash area, somewhere to dry equipment, and parking. It's not a hotel, so you need to organize activities yourself, but I was able to enjoy everything without inconvenience.

It was easy to relax here, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The guesthouse has just three rooms and was impeccably clean; the owner's warm manner also made for an easygoing stay. Their dog, Cheese, was adorable and comforting. The owners and I chatted now and then. They weren't businesslike, just natural and relaxed. Large stores are nearby, but the house sits a little off the beaten path, so it's very quiet, with insects and wind moving through the corn as the main sounds. There's a microwave, toaster, kettle, and instant coffee, along with everything else I needed.

They handled all the rental car arrangements for me, which was a big help. I also asked for a ride to Shimojishima Airport on my way back. It was 3000 yen from the city, a little cheaper than a taxi. I'd like to use their activity services next time.
