Miyakojima is a lovely place to spend the winter somewhere mild. We’re back for a second year, and it feels like coming home. ecot Shimozato 2 works well for a longer stay, with a spacious apartment and everything needed for comfort. Shops and restaurants are walkable, though I’d recommend renting a car.

It’s a clean, well-equipped place with an Airbnb-style setup, in a very quiet area. Check-in is at the Pine rental car shop.

For four days in Miyako, this spacious, modern apartment was clean and everything worked well. There are several parking spaces, so I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Miyako with a car.

The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and reasonably priced, with rooms of 42 square meters and eight rooms available. It had a washing machine and a powerful bathroom dryer, so our towels and swimsuits were dry the next morning. The bathtub was roomy too. There was a fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and two gas burners, and a supermarket about a three-minute drive away, so cooking was easy. A convenience store and Yamato delivery office were both around five minutes away on foot. My one complaint was the lack of a clock. I’d stay again. I rented from the affiliated Pine Rent-A-Car and got the special discount for guests. When my flight arrived at Shimojishima Airport, the office was on the first floor, so I could pick up the car and check in at Ecot Shimosato 2 at the same time. Then I could go sightseeing and head straight to the inn, which was a big plus for anyone using Shimojishima Airport.

We chose this place for our honeymoon. The shuttle was excellent, and the room was spacious and clean. All the staff were really nice!
