I first stayed at Relaxing House de Akemi years ago when it opened, and the service is still top-notch, maybe even better. Akemi and her family made the whole experience wonderful, with warm hospitality and hearty Japanese meals. If you want to experience Japanese culture in a traditionally built house, I’d highly recommend staying here. I’m deeply grateful to Akemi and her family.

This was easily the best part of my whole month in Japan, and I wish I could’ve stayed longer. From the moment I walked in, I felt at home. Akemi and her family welcomed and cared for me like one of their own, more warmly than anyone ever has. “Relaxing House de Akemi” was an unforgettable, beautiful experience, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality. I truly hope we meet again soon.

The landlady was kind, lovely, and helpful in so many ways, and the facilities felt very homely. The house is large and has a long history, built around 80 years ago, yet it’s exceptionally well maintained and spotlessly clean. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in an authentically Japanese home.

We’re so glad we began 2025 in this lovely, warmhearted family’s home. It’s a beautiful, typical Japanese house with 80 years of history and no major changes. The hosts explained the house and Japanese culture with such kindness and enthusiasm. Super interesting. Domo arigato gozaïmas ❤️

The house was beautiful, quiet, and the food was amazing. Akemi-san was a wonderful hostess and helped us with everything. This was easily our favorite place in Japan so far, and we’d definitely return.
