A stream runs right outside, adding to the peaceful, quiet feel of the hostel. Nagata is a beautiful, calm town, and the location works perfectly for going on sea turtle tours. Our hostess was incredibly friendly and accommodating. For an additional cost, she served delicious home-grown and local food at breakfast and dinner, and it was 100% worth it. She also prepared the traditional Japanese bath each night, which we loved. We loved our stay and would definitely return. Highly recommend!

Falling asleep to the sound of the stream was a highlight, as was the glorious fire-heated bath. I also loved curling up in the cozy living room by its small fireplace. I was there alone for three nights, and the dinner cooked for me was the best food I had in all three weeks in Japan. It's an old house with everything you'd expect from one, and I loved every bit of it. The village nagata is quiet, and the place isn't Western Standard, so it won't suit everyone. But if you enjoy unusual experiences, it's a 10 / 10.

Hiromi, our lovely owner, was so nice. The old house is beautiful, and waking up to the sound of the stream with a mountain view was wonderful. A warm-water Pacific beach is only a few steps away. Hope to see you again!

The garden was nice, and the location was the best. The people were very nice, and the service was discreet. I was happy here in this beautiful, old-style traditional house, with its traditional toilets and bath.

Getting there was inconvenient, and the place itself is very small. The surroundings were nice, scenic, and calm, though.
