Hotel Peace Island Miyakojima

I stayed on the first day of the Obon festival, and breakfast was included. The hotel sits in a corner of downtown Miyako Island, which is convenient for eating out, and it has parking for 500 yen. The twin room had comfortable semi-double beds, but it was small enough that I had to spread my wheeled suitcase out on the bed.

I used this as my base for three nights in late June, after the rainy season had ended, and I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Miyakojima. It's convenient and within walking distance of the edge of downtown. I had a rental car, and there was plenty of parking, though the lot was nearly full by evening. There was a washing machine but no place in the room to dry things, so it was handy for washing wet swimsuits. The bathroom walls were rusty and looked a little cheap. Water also wouldn't drain properly when I used either the shower or faucet, which was a slight drawback. The hotel seems popular with groups, so mornings get busy. Breakfast is basic and the selection isn't wide, but it's provided.

The room was clean and had two beds, a refrigerator, washing machine, and microwave. The staff were polite, and you can hang wetsuits and swimsuits on the rooftop. It would've been even better if there were a bathtub.

The buffet breakfast was good, especially the yushi tofu. The staff also deserve thanks for keeping the room clean. During my trip to Miyakojima, I found the room convenient, clean, and comfortable, with a washing machine and microwave.
