Mahho Terrace

Mayu-san made us feel so welcome and explained everything clearly, which really added to our stay. Mahho Terrace is also just a short walk from Painagama beach, and there’s a cute cafe downstairs. We’d happily stay again when we’re back in Miyakojima.

This hostel was clean and peaceful, with restaurants and shopping malls only about a five-minute walk away. The staff were so kind, and they’re welcoming to foreign guests too. There’s even someone on staff who speaks English, so don’t worry if you’re not Japanese. If you’re heading to Miyakojima, come stay here! Thank you🥹🥹🥹

We used the buses to explore all three corners of the island, then came back in the evening to eat at one of the many restaurants near Mahho Terrace. It’s a small guesthouse by the port, just a few minutes on foot from the busy city center. The place was spotless, with a welcoming shared area and a kitchen that had everything we needed. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the island. Thank you, Mahho Terrace!

The bathrooms were spotless, with hot water, and there’s even a bathtub for women, which felt like a real treat in a hostel. I also appreciated how well stocked the shared kitchen was, including plenty of communal spices and seasonings. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were so friendly. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in anywhere.
