Painagama House

The location is great, and breakfast was good, but that was about it. The kitchenette didn't seem usable for cooking. There was a hole in the wall patched with tape, and the “front desk” was inside one of the rooms?

The location was probably the best part, and the strong kitchen exhaust fan was useful. But the room only looked clean at first: the futon had stains, the walls were scratched and peeling, and a razor cover from the previous guest was left behind. The pipes smelled moldy, so the cleaning seemed questionable. The shower was apartment-style, and I had to turn on the water heater and wait a few minutes for hot water. In winter, even Okinawa gets cold, so it would've been awful if the water hadn't warmed up. I wish they'd explained that at check-in. From the second floor, trees blocked the ocean view (*´-`), though it's right there once you go outside. The entrance is on the side, away from the beach.

The seventh-floor room looks straight out at the ocean, which gives it a resort feeling. Shops, restaurants, convenience stores, and massage parlors are all walkable. I like Mr.KINJO because the bathroom and toilet are separate and there's a washing machine.

The staff were nice, and the location was great, with a coin laundry nearby. Still, there were several bad smells: from the garbage area on the first floor, the room, the air conditioner, and the pipes. The shower pressure kept shifting between normal and weak, and even getting the shower going took 20 minutes. That was disappointing.
