The house is about a 30-minute drive from Miyako airport, and Yoshino beach and Aragusuku beach are less than 10 minutes away by car for snorkeling. There’s free Wi-Fi, a nice pool, an open-air bath, and designated BBQ spots. It made me feel like I was on Bali island. I’d highly recommend staying here if you want some unforgettable days.

We drove to Yoshino Beach in about 5-10 minutes and went snorkeling early in the morning, then again in the evening. Free Wi-Fi was a nice bonus. In early October, we stayed here about a 30-minute drive from Miyakojima city. We bought groceries at the supermarket and used the BBQ area right in front of the pool. Later, we enjoyed an open-air bath while looking up at the stars. It became a wonderful memory.
We booked Private House YOSHINO through Ikyu for five nights and six days. The experience felt welcoming from the reservation onward. It can be hard to get enough information from a website, but YOSHINO was easy to contact by email, which made planning our first island trip smooth. They were willing to accommodate our requests, and we appreciated that. At first, the map and aerial view made the location look like it was just fields, and I wondered about it. But that’s part of what’s good about the place. Now that I’m back home in Tokyo, I keep thinking about how peaceful the stay felt, like I could really be present and myself. With a rental car, Miyako Island is small enough to explore freely in a day. Starting from the conveniently located Gusukube area felt a bit like exploring our own backyard. Yoshino Beach, Urasoko Port on Aragusuku Beach, Boraizumi Beach, and Ingya Marine Garden were easy to reach, as was Higashi-Hennazaki Cape. If you like walking, you can even take a morning stroll to the sea. It’s a hidden gem for families focused on the sea or groups who want to snorkel. During our six days, we crossed the three major bridges, enjoyed sunsets, a full moon, and sunrises, and even went sea fishing. We bought groceries at the nearby JA and cooked, though Donpen has also expanded to Miyako Island (lol). Cooking together as mother and daughter became part of the trip. Having breakfast and dinner provided at a hotel sounds like heaven, honestly, but I was exhausted when we got back. We wanted to travel even during the pandemic, so we thought carefully about what we needed and planned around it. Choosing Private House YOSHINO for the vacation rental was absolutely right. There’s a pool, you can barbecue, lie on the grass, and look at all sorts of insects. I came home feeling like Miyako Island was our hometown, and now I’m looking up properties there. After staying at YOSHINO, I started wanting to live there. It was a wonderful way to experience the island’s charm. Thank you, Mr. Miyagawa!
The garden was full of little things to notice: hibiscus in different colors, snails, lizards, and frogs. It’s near Yoshino Coast, among sugarcane fields, and seems like a great setting for nature lovers and families who want their children to observe nature. The place was easy to use, almost like being at home. We had seasonings and tableware, bought local ingredients, and cooked, with coffee and a kettle provided too. I think it suits families who like chatting together more than people looking for scenic views.
The beach was a comfortable drive away, close enough without being right there. Inside, we had our own great private space, and the fridge was stocked with plenty of drinks.
