I cut my planned two-night stay short and booked another hotel after just one night. The bedding had an unpleasant smell, like someone had already been there, and the shower head was rusty. The toilet door was broken and only opened a little. The trailer also felt smaller than it looked in the online photos, and trees in the dark, overgrown surroundings kept hitting it noisily through the night. The trailer's movement wasn't too bad, but the noise was. I doubt a large family car would fit in the parking space, and the projector didn't work.

I booked the day-use option after checking out because my flight home was late. The trailer itself was roomy and very clean, though bedding isn't included for day use. You can come and go during the rental, so I left my bags there, went for some last-minute shopping, then could head to the beach, shower in the trailer, and fly home. Depending on which trailer you get, parking may be tricky, and even a light breeze causes a slight sway, though I got used to it. The reception is a bit of a distance from the trailers. They give you a map, but the roads are rough and it's not easy to find your way.

The biggest downside was being greeted by a huge spider the moment I walked in. There were more spiders, geckos, and other bugs around, and I was pale with fright until my companion helped get rid of them. I even saw a new, cool side of them. The Wi-Fi and TV weren't great either. So, be ready for large insects. I took a photo of the spider, but it's too graphic to post. I slept fine without noticing smells or much shaking, and the air conditioning, shower pressure, and toilet were all good. Some people seem to stay for longer periods. I enjoyed the trip overall, so I didn't rate the place too low, but the spiders are a problem for me and I probably wouldn't return.

For someone who visits Miyakojima at least 20 times a year for both work and holidays, this place is one I'd like to come back to. I stayed in mid-July for 3,980 yen a night, which surprised me for summer, even with the impact of COVID-19. I'm used to paying 20,000 yen per night for a single room in a regular hotel. It's a little hard to find, but arriving there made me think, “They built this in a place like this?” The value felt excellent. To me, it fits casual solo or business travelers better than resort or leisure stays. There are negative reviews, but I think that may come down to how people use the place or whether they researched it beforehand.
