The current director leaves a poor impression. They seem a bit frivolous and don't even greet people. The young woman on staff, though, does greet visitors properly. The former staff member was very polite and welcoming, and the water used to be warm and pleasant. I used to think this was a good hot spring, but lately the water has been very lukewarm. People come here to warm up in winter, so the temperature control feels careless. December 2025

This public hot spring in Takasaki-cho, Miyakonojo City is mostly used by locals, but I think it's worth coming from farther away too. The grounds are kept meticulously clean, and for a public facility the amenities are excellent, including ReFa showerheads. Body soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. The baths use sodium bicarbonate and chloride spring water, known as a “beauty bath” for leaving skin smooth. The open-air bath feels spacious. There's both a dry sauna and a steam sauna, with steam released periodically to keep the temperature controlled, making it easy to alternate between hot and cold baths.

(This time) I'd been looking forward to the Chinese bento lunches since late November, so I was surprised when staff told me they don't sell them on days when Nanjing Musume is closed. It wasn't Nanjing Musume's usual day off, and there were still plenty of bento lunches in the evening. They used to have an evening buffet, but that's closed now, so maybe the bento lunches sell out by lunchtime? The lunch menu is pretty good, though. The sign says a set meal for 1,000 yen lets you choose soba, udon, or ramen. They also serve sweet and sour pork and fried shrimp. Next time I'd like to take my time over lunch. 🥰 (Last time) I sometimes come to this great hot spring. They sell bento lunches and bread too. Once, a group of students happened to be there, and it was so loud and crowded that I nearly got a headache. I wish they'd put up a sign. It's a public place, but when everyone gets too noisy, it can be tiring.

I moved away from the area where I grew up, so this was my first visit in a few years. I still recommend the place (*^^*). The building is old, but it seems well cared for. They've added lighting since I last came, so it feels brighter, and the open-air bath now plays soothing music. In the women's bath, the four middle shower spots I used had Refa showerheads. I haven't checked the other ones, but these should leave your skin even more beautiful ♪ One thing that still needs attention: people often use the lockers without putting in the 10 yen coin, which surprises you when you open one. I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea, and I hope they make sure the lockers are used properly so everyone can enjoy the place comfortably. (-1☆) The water suited me and left me feeling so relaxed after my bath. I'll definitely come back ♪
