On The Beach Lue

Our Japanese-style room was old but clean and well maintained, with a little boardwalk leading straight onto the sandy coral beach. The room itself faced the forest. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the place had a warm, cozy feel. It’s quaint and rustic without seeming run-down. We stayed two nights in early November and loved it. I’m planning another Okinawa trip soon and will book here again, this time with an ocean view.

The breakfast buffet could use more choice. There were so few options that you could take everything you wanted in one round, though the food tasted good. We loved staying at On the Beach Lue, especially the beach and the BBQ right beside it. We even played with fireworks on the beach at night. The beds were really comfortable, and the inside was clean despite the building looking quite old from outside.

We picked up food at a market about a 10-minute drive away and cooked it on the room’s stove, since the breakfast menu photos looked pretty simple. The room itself was basic but clean, right beside a beautiful beach. The aquarium was easy to get to as well, about 15-20 minutes away.

We were staying up the street, not at the hotel, but this place was a godsend. The man at the information desk was incredibly courteous. Though our Japanese is hardly intelligible, he happily called us a taxi on three occasions. We had dinner there too, and it was delicious, comforting food. The hotel sits right on the lovely, quiet beach Lue, with a scenic ocean sunset view, and its location between Ohama/Sesoko Island and Miyazato worked perfectly for us. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat for the staff, the beach, the views, and those home-cooked meals. I can’t speak to the rooms, since we didn’t stay there.
