There are plenty of places to eat once you get here: Joyfull and a basic 100-yen shop are downstairs, with Onshabu-shabu, Kura Sushi, and Mos Burger next door. You can also walk to the omelet rice restaurant, Royal Host, or 7-Eleven. Getting here is the tricky part. From Akama Station, it's about an hour on foot, there aren't any useful bus routes, and a taxi or car takes around 15 minutes, so driving is pretty much the only practical option. The hotel itself is a little dated, and the air conditioning is centrally controlled, but for the price I wasn't too bothered. Breakfast is included, and the front desk staff were welcoming. The two people I stayed with thought the WiFi was weak. We were on different floors and didn't really notice it, so perhaps it varies by room or floor. There's a hot spring behind the hotel that seems to take day visitors. One thing to watch for: AZ Hotel is near Mos Burger, just turn left after passing the hotel. If you turn too early right before it, you'll end up at a different hotel. Don't expect much, but the price makes this an adequate stay.
