Comfort Inn Munakata

The room was a bit bigger than the usual Japanese hotel room, which honestly saved me. I get claustrophobic in those tiny rooms sometimes, half joking. The building and room were clean and well kept, and the staff were kind and friendly. Breakfast was simple, but tasty and served well. Nothing to complain about.

The room was small, but clean, with a big bed. The towels were so stiff I wondered if hotel towels are meant to be that way. Welcome drinks were just coffee or lemon water, and it’d be nice to have soft drinks for kids too. Breakfast didn’t have much selection. We booked the bed-sharing plan for two people including our elementary school-aged child, but only one towel and toothbrush, etc. were provided, which seemed odd. The free parking spaces are marked very close together.

The breakfast buffet has a decent spread, with things children will enjoy and waffles you can make yourself, which is fun. Rooms are comfortable and don’t feel cramped, as can happen at Comfort Hotels. Most people seem to arrive by car, so there aren’t many international tourists. The lot is large, but the front desk staff seemed inexperienced, and it appeared to fill up often, perhaps because several cars park there. The second lot is shared with a pachinko parlor and gets very dark at night.

The room was clean and the staff were really friendly. The unit bath is roomy, and the mirror has a built-in heater to keep it from fogging, which was handy. I’d stay here again if I get the chance.
