The front desk staff didn't speak much English, but they tried everything to make my stay feel good. Their kindness went beyond what I've experienced in Japan so far.

Clean and reasonably priced, with breakfast that includes both local and Western dishes. The bathrooms can be small.

I've never stayed at the hotel, so I can't comment on that. I ordered an ehomaki by phone and went to pick it up on the day, but it had been booked for the next day because of a mistake on the hotel's part. I didn't get it, even though I was really looking forward to it. The receptionist apologized that it wasn't ready but didn't say there had been a mix-up. I didn't want a pointless argument over who said what, so I just said it was fine and left. It did make me worry about whether the same kind of mix-up could happen with a hotel reservation. Since this is a special event, I hope they'll improve the ordering system to make these mistakes less likely.
