This is a private house, with a man and an indoor dog. When you arrive, he keeps boasting and telling stories about guests he didn’t like while you’re in what seems to be the living room. After that, you’re shown to a shared room. There’s no air conditioning, even in summer. The shower works, but you’re directed to a public bath far away, and I couldn’t relax at all. There are no shops nearby either. I’d seen a woman’s review on a booking site describing a lot of differences between the listing and reality. Her review got replies with harsh insults like “Go to a mental hospital,” which I found really annoying. I can’t recommend this place at all.

For me, the stay was awful, and I’m never going back. The building itself is nice and made of Aomori cypress, but the shower is so cramped you can barely stand, and the drain clogs right away. We were staying multiple nights. When we came back at 3 PM on the second day, we were told we couldn’t use the shower until 4 PM, and would have to pay 1,000 yen per person to use it then. There were other problems too, but that was enough for me.

It’s a guesthouse that’s hard to find. There’s room for one person on the first floor and three on the second, and the shower is for one person at a time. The wood smells like cypress, which is great if you like that smell. There’s a microwave, tableware, and Wi-Fi, and they sell ceramics. There are lots of warning signs about trash, smoking, and showers, with charges for anyone who breaks the rules.
