For a budget hotel in Mutsu, this was a good find. The beds were really comfortable, even though the inside of the building feels old. It’s about a five-minute walk to the main food and izakaya street. The staff were very attentive too: after one request, they quickly moved our two rooms onto the same floor and changed one that had mistakenly been booked as a smoking room to a nonsmoking room.

There’s a free coffee machine and a lounge in the lobby, with a map showing nearby sights and how far away they are. The hotel is clean and convenient, and Wi-Fi works throughout. You can also ask the front desk for things like air purifiers, humidifiers, heaters, and fans.

My flight was canceled because of a typhoon, but the hotel wouldn’t let me move the booking or apply the money to a new date. They wouldn’t work with me on any solution despite the circumstances. Typhoons are common this time of year, so changing travel plans because of the weather could put your booking at risk. I wouldn’t stay here.

The hotel is old but kept in good shape. My room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was great. Parking is free. The staff speak a little English and are very helpful.

I paid 5,800 yen a night for a single room, which felt like a pretty solid deal. The internet was quite fast too. I can recommend it without hesitation.
