Pete and Jenn made us feel so welcome, and we really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast runs from 0700-0900hrs. The menu changes day to day but is mostly standard Western fare: overnight oats, eggs fried, scrambled or poached, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, toast with vegemite, peanut butter, and strawberry or blueberry jam. On our last morning they even served us a burrito. There are slippers, plus a big, handy drying room on B1 for ski clothes, gear, and boots. The washing machine costs 600yen per wash and there’s no dryer. Refre has ticket coupons for 10% off rentals at Aoyama sports, while booking online through myoko snowsports gets you 20% off. I didn’t sit down to compare properly since we booked ski lessons with myoko snowsports. Also, check the train schedule from Nagano to myokokogen, as trains aren’t frequent.

Peter and Jenn are wonderful hosts, and the cozy family room helped make the stay feel welcoming. The breakfast is the best in town, and everything about the hotel is top notch. It made for a memorable experience.

Our room was spacious enough for all five of us, and the hotel sits right beside one of the ski lifts. Jennifer and her family made us feel completely at home. Email and whatsapp communication with Jennifer was easy, and payment was flexible. They also picked us up at the station and offered to take us back at checkout.

Pete and Jen know the local area well and made it easy to arrange things to see and do, which helped our group trip run smoothly. Refre Hotel strikes a great balance between traditional Japanese style and accessibility for foreign visitors wanting to experience Myoko. They’ve done fantastic work on the hotel, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. We’d love to come back. Cheers.

Peter picked our family up from the station, so we felt welcome right away. The private onsen was a lovely surprise, and we could use it together as a family. Our family room was spacious, and the cozy atmosphere and friendly service made all the difference. Jen, Peter, and the team made it feel like staying in someone’s home. I stayed at Hotel Refre in Myoko last December and can’t recommend it enough. I had to change my booking several times, and Jen was incredibly accommodating and understanding. I can’t wait to visit again!
