Waking early to see the sunrise from my room, with Mountain Ibuki in the view, was a highlight. The night was so quiet that I slept soundly, and the sunset near the hotel was lovely too. The port is close by, with Biwako lake, birds, boats, and early morning anglers to watch. It felt like a luxurious place to unwind and focus on feeling well. I was taken with the hotel as soon as I saw it. The reception area is stunning, and the whole place feels elegant and classy, like luxury hotels I’ve seen in Switzerland, Italy, France, and Netherlands. The staff were warm, cheerful, helpful, kind, and professional. The women on the hotel team were smiling and looked clean and elegant, and the restaurant staff were excellent too. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with plenty of healthy choices like fruit salad and fish, plus refreshing fruit juices. The dining room was spotless, and its staff were polite and cheerful. My room was just right: cozy, clean blankets and pillows, a clean toilet and bathtub, and one of the best air conditioners I’ve had in a hotel in Japan. Other guests were polite and considerate as well. I’ll recommend the place to my friends and post about it on LinkedIn and Instagram.

It’s about a 10-minute walk to the nearest JR station, with restaurants and a supermarket next to it. The ferry terminal for Nagahama is right beside this resort-style hotel. My room was comfortable even though I was traveling alone, and I paid quite cheaply because I visited in low season. The breakfast spread was very nice. Staff were polite and keen to help or answer questions.

The buffet breakfast was pretty damn good, and the staff, service, views, and food were all amazing. The property is gorgeous, though a bit older, and the rooms were very clean. Its location feels awkward, with little to do beyond walking around the local park or castle and watching the tiny waves on Biwako. Nagahama station and a grocery store are both a 10-minute walk away. It felt a little overpriced for a place that isn’t really a tourist destination, especially since most rooms seemed empty. Maybe that’s why.

Hotel Grazie was fantastic, mostly because the staff were so helpful and memorable. If I remember right, the receptionist was called Ryu, and his female colleague deserves a promotion for how committed she was to her job. I’m looking forward to coming back 😀

The room was clean and nice, if a little small, in this simple hotel. I also liked the cozy Japanese restaurant, and the dinner course was quite good.
