The living room had a lovely feel, with notes on the table where guests could leave thoughts about their journeys. My bed was big, the kitchen was great, and the staff were kind and helpful. It’s just 100m from Nagano Station, and for under $30 a night I really couldn’t have asked for more. Best cheap hostel stay I’ve had.

Handy for the station, and the staff were super friendly. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had plenty of supplies if you wanted to cook or bring back takeaway. The price was reasonable too.

We had a great stay at Local Knot Backpackers. It’s an easy walk from the train station, and the rooms were comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I’d happily recommend it to anyone staying in Nagano.

The rooms were nice, though a little cold, and there’s only a small living room. The staff were kind, and with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby plus the train station close by, we’d come back.

I was there for one winter night before heading to Hakuba to ski. It’s a simple, affordable backpackers hostel right around the corner from the station. The rooms were warm and quiet, though the beds felt a bit thin. It looks set up to be social, but there were hardly any other guests while I was there.
