The room's big windows looked especially lovely at sunset, and the interior and cutlery were chosen with real taste. The skincare amenities were new to me, and I liked them so much I nearly bought some. We stayed at Komfort, where the separate toilets and showers on both floors made it comfortable for couples, friends, or families. The wine cellar had a good range of Hokkaido wines at reasonable prices. We made pasta for dinner and found all the cookware and tableware we needed. The kitchen was so well equipped it felt ready to live in. One night didn't feel like enough, so I'd recommend staying at least two.
We cooked dinner ourselves, and the provided seasonings, pots, and pans made that easy. The room's view was amazing, and I'd like to come back in summer. We stayed at Maoiq Comfort. There were two beds on each floor. Downstairs also had projection mapping for Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube, plus a shower and toilet. Upstairs had a kitchen, a shower/bathroom, and a toilet. The bath was lovely for unwinding, with several features including an overhead waterfall and color-changing lights. We could also use Niseko brand ICOR cleanser, face wash, lotion, and cream.
It's a wonderful place to relax, and I'd like to come back. I didn't complain during the stay because I didn't want to spoil it, but there are a few things I'd like to see fixed. The fireplace exhaust fan, I think, made a loud rumbling sound that bothered me when I was trying to sleep. It was worse on the second floor, so I slept downstairs. It would be good if guests could switch it off at bedtime. The air circulator was noisy and didn't blow air, so I turned it off as soon as I arrived. The replacement seemed cheap, and I wish they'd provide one that works properly. The tableware, sofa, and other furniture were excellent, so something of similar quality would be welcome. I also found two toothbrushes in the amenity pouch, but one was open and looked used. Only about a third of the toothpaste remained. I don't know whether someone had only used the toothpaste, but the thought of putting something touched by another person's hand in my mouth made me feel sick. I can't really explain that, so I suppose it couldn't be helped. Those are the three things I'd want improved for next time. Other people have already covered the good points, but this really is a lovely inn, and I definitely want to visit again.
The furniture and furnishings have a lovely feel, and there's nature all around: light, breeze, and birdsong. It's a place that helps you unwind. Hokkaido's scenery changes with the seasons, so I'd definitely like to come back.
We arrived after dark and couldn't find groceries at the nearby roadside station, so we went to a recommended supermarket instead. It had tasty vegetables from Naganuma town and meat from Hokkaido. Later, we warmed up by the wood-burning stove, then watched the sky slowly change color from the big window at dawn. It felt like a real treat, and I'd love to see the place in another season. The atmosphere was refined but still warm and welcoming. Having a washer and dryer was a relief, since laundry builds up on a trip. Cooking and doing laundry felt calm and comfortable here.
