Hotel New Nagasaki

The concierge had useful sightseeing tips, and the room was spacious with a great view and a full amenity kit, including body lotion. We were very happy with the hotel and felt it was good value for money. I forgot some important things in the room when we left. The reception offered to send them to another hotel on our ongoing trip, and it worked out. That kind of help made a real difference. I’d certainly return.

We found the location very handy, close to both the train station and a large mall with a food court. Our rooms were the largest we saw in Japan, and breakfast had both Japanese and Western choices and was fine. The concierge noticed us looking at what to do next in the lobby and came over with maps, brochures and advice. It made our visit more interesting and efficient than relying on Google alone. We also asked how to get to Unzen Onsen. Though the clerk's English was limited, he printed directions to the bus station and a timetable, then showed us a picture of the station so there'd be no confusion.

The hotel is in a very convenient spot and has good staff and amenities. I could sometimes hear racing outside, though it stopped by midnight, and one night a child ran around in the room above me. I do recommend staying here, but be aware that the location can mean go-cart racing noise.

The staff were so helpful, even during the busy breakfast period, and the location and overall experience were very satisfying. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the New Nagasaki. Our room was well equipped with the amenities I often find missing at other hotels. I highly recommend it.
