The owner's an author and artist, and I loved the bookish feel. Her artistic postcards point out places to see around the city. The neighborhood is super quiet, and you can rent a bicycle. The place has a fridge, kitchen, kettle, washing machine and dryer. You can hang laundry on the roof too. Even my thick socks dried up there after a day. It's a little uphill from Nagasaki station, near the 26 Martyrs monument and museum, restaurants, and the main road with streetcars and buses.

The woman at the coffee shop downstairs was really nice, but this was the worst hostel I've stayed at in Japan. Five beds share one small room, split by a wall, and the accordion door lets light through. If someone leaves a light on, everyone else has to deal with it. The mattress was awful too. I had a really hard time falling asleep and regret staying there.

The staff were very friendly, and the bikes were decent. I rented an e-bike to explore Nagasaki, rode all the way to Kaba Island Lighthouse and back, and still had 30% battery left. In Eco mode, it should last around 100 km.

The owner was sweet and showed me an easy way to return the bike if he wasn't around. The e-bike was nice and reasonably priced, and I rode it around the peace park, museum and nearby area.

This was my best bike rental during a three-week trip in Japan. The bikes are really nice, unlike the bike shares in other cities, and I rode about 80 km in four hours. After the ride I ordered a sandwich, which was made very well and came with chips. Both the food and bike rental are a great deal, and the people were friendly and helpful. Japan is a wonderful place to visit, and this place really stood out. Thanks for the service.
