The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the complimentary perks were great: drinks including draft beer, wine and plum wine from 3pm to 11pm, traditional sponge cake in the lounge twice a day, and a guided tour at 9pm. The location is convenient, just a one-minute walk from the church, and we got lucky with the view from our room. It's the best hotel in Nagasaki. I hope their "reduce plastic" policy catches on across the country.

The free night-time tour overlooking the city is worth taking. You can go ten minutes farther on your own to the Mt. Nabekammuri Observatory deck for an even better view. We stayed three nights and four days as a family of four, with two children six and under. The food, service and atmosphere were incredible, and we'll definitely stay here every year when we come back. The lobby has been newly renovated while the rooms keep their vintage look. Some people may or may not like that, but I preferred the vintage craftsmanship. The staff were incredibly friendly with our kids and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. It's been a long time since I've stayed at a hotel where the staff seemed to value their work and go above and beyond for guests.

I slept really well here. It's clean and cozy, and I felt safe and relaxed. There wasn't Wi-Fi in the room, but the tasty food and complimentary drinks downstairs helped make up for that. Had a great stay.
