Kanehide Kise Country Club

The villas and golf course are nice, but this is a Golf Club with villa stays, not a resort hotel focused on its guests. If you don't speak Japanese, staying here can be difficult. We left confused and disappointed more than once. I'd suggest the Ritz Carlton down the road instead. I've traveled around Asia for the past three years and, even with language barriers elsewhere, haven't had customer service this poor. We asked about the rate for nine holes and were quoted 15,000 for the next day. When we came to book a tee time, the price was 27,000. Staff said they'd made a mistake with the original quote, then charged us 27,000 yen per person without much explanation or an apology. We'd booked our whole stay about five months ahead. Our credit card expired in the meantime, so we added a new one to our Expedia account. Kise CC apparently didn't get the updated details, despite being in direct contact with Expedia. After we left Okinawa for mainland travel, Kise called, texted, and emailed asking for payment. We replied promptly and tried to provide card details through their payment portal, by phone, and by text. Five different staff members handled it, and it seemed they weren't communicating. Within 24 hrs, they threatened us and called the local police and MPs, even though we'd already resubmitted our card information. The next day they confirmed they had received it, and took no further action.
