What stayed with me most was the family and the other guests. We met people from different countries, and everyone ended up together at the barbecue, eating, laughing, telling stories and staying up late. For one night it felt like a little international family. The kids were fun, curious and full of life, and spending time with them made me miss my own children. As parents, a trip gives you a brief reset, and somehow this place brought all that love back to the surface. The host and his family are generous, kind and truly welcoming. From the moment you arrive, you feel like you belong, and it’s clear they care about their guests. If you pick up meat at MaxValu, the host is happy to cook it, or you can do it yourself. We let him cook a traditional Japanese barbecue. We spent about $60 on meat, which was far more than we needed, and still had leftovers after two nights. It was worth every yen for the experience. The host really likes the sake in my photos, so bringing him a bottle and some meat could make for a memorable evening. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the internet is fast, and the heating and cooling work well. Everything is thoughtfully maintained. Okinawa is beautiful, but people like this family are what made the trip unforgettable. I can’t recommend this hostel enough and will definitely stay again.

Ryota and his family made my five-night stay. They’re so nice, and the place was just as advertised. I didn’t have a car or bike, so I took buses to Kouri Island and The Tropical Dream Center. They don’t come often, but I managed. It was about 1.5 hours to Kouri and 45-60 minutes to Tropical Dream Center and the aquarium. On my last night, there was a party for one of Ryota’s sons, and he invited the guests to join in. We drank while ryota and his friends played the Sanshin and sang. It really made my trip. Can’t wait to come back ❤️

The owners and their family were welcoming without making a fuss, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The rooms were huge and comfortable, so we had a great stay and thought it was a great deal.

We had a great two-night stay. The rooms were cozy, and the staff were very nice. There are restaurants just a few minutes away on foot, including an amazing Thai place, and there’s also a small independent convenience shop nearby. You can cook in the kitchen if you’d rather make your own food. The house is close to two bus stops, though the bus terminal is quite a walk, about half an hour, unless you take a cab or bus. Google has some trouble with directions around here, but the owner is happy to explain which buses to take and help with anything you need. We couldn’t use all the kitchen supplies at first because the oil and spices were off limits, but the owner let us use some after we asked.
