Stäy Hotel

What we'll remember most is how the owners of Stay Hotel helped us during a very difficult situation. My fiancé and I were on Kouri Island when our phones, wallets, and my passport were stolen. We had no car and no way to get to the consulate, which was 2.5 hours from Stay Hotel. The owners bought us food and drove us to the Police Station, where the police were able to take us the rest of the way. Later, when our phones' location notifications came in, we used a very old iPad with Wifi to contact the owner and ask her to notify the police. She did. It was an awful turn of events, and without the locals and the people at Stay Hotel, getting home would have been much harder. They went out of their way over something that had nothing to do with them or the hotel. Their hospitality made us feel like one of their own. Thank you again for your help. The place itself is gorgeous and well cared for, tucked among the trees by a beach in Okinawa. It was a beautiful setting. We're sad that the last part of our trip ended on a sour note, but I highly recommend spending a couple of nights at Stay Hotel. You'll see a side of the island you can't get in Naha.

We had beachfront access for a quiet early morning walk and some great photos. The weather was a little chilly, but the water was surprisingly warm. We also loved going up to the roof to look at the stars, a romantic touch. The room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was impressive. Our host was very nice and patient when we arrived around 11:30 pm, well after our expected check-in time. We'd definitely book again.

The owners were extremely nice, and the place was clean. We especially loved the bathroom, which felt edgy but comfortable. There are free snorkels and snorkeling masks, plus quick access to the beach behind the hotel. Highly recommend!

The place was tranquil, easy to find, and had free parking and a good view. The couple hosting us were friendly and suggested a good snorkeling spot. I liked the very clean, stylish Sweden x Japanese decor. I saw a comment saying the carpet was dusty. I sneezed once or twice, but didn't see any dust. My only issue was the light curtain. As a city girl, I'm not used to waking up with the natural sunrise, haha.
