The onsen was the worst part for us. The water looked green, and we couldn't bring ourselves to get in. When we booked, we thought the color was just the lighting. I couldn't take a photo there, so I'm including Google images that show what I mean. The room was tiny, with hardly any space beside the bed, and it was very dark. There was a small window, but you needed a tool from reception to open it. We asked to change rooms and were told all of them had the same kind of window. The toilet seat was broken and out of place too. Breakfast had little variety, some dishes had English translations and others didn't, and the supposedly warm food was cold despite the warmer. The orange drink was flavored water, unlike the real orange juice at the other hotel we stayed in. We'd stayed at APA hotels before, but disliked this one for several reasons. I'd skip it if you're staying in Nagoya.

Everything was really good, and the spa was included in the price. The room was small, which is why I gave it four stars, though I think that’s normal for Japan.

The staff made me feel welcome in Japan, especially as a first timer. My Japanese is limited, but they were so friendly and helpful, even helping ship my souvenirs to my next hotel. I highly recommend staying here, and I’ll be back. 10/10. Thanks for everything!

I left my JR pass in the room after checking out, and the staff let me go back to look even though the room had already been made up. They even searched through the trash and found it. That fantastic service saved my trip. The facilities are great, but the staff were the standout.

The room was clean and really nice, and we enjoyed the breakfast. Getting around was easy too, with Nagoya castle, money & ukiyo-e museum, and subway lines nearby. One subway access point even had elevators all the way down, so we could take our luggage without using stairs. What made the stay especially comfortable was one of the front staff. Our Japanese was limited, but she helped us quickly and warmly. After checkout, we also wanted to visit the money museum, and they let us leave our luggage for an extra hour. Thank you, Ms. A, for your hospitality 😊
