Comfort Hotel Nagoya Shinkansenguchi

The room was spotless and pleasant, and the service was friendly and great. It was very small, though, so expect to climb over your partner to get to the bathroom. The price wasn’t bad. There was a ReFa shower head and hair dryer in the room, in case that matters to you. At check-in they sent us to a self-service kiosk. I’m not an employee here. Breakfast was advertised as a Nagoya-style buffet, but it was generic runny eggs, a bread bar, and similar items, nothing exciting. The women working there kept shouting in baby voices, which was really annoying. Seating was limited and the tables were small, so the whole meal was a challenge. Next time I’ll get breakfast elsewhere. The included food isn’t worth putting up with that.

For a hotel near a JR station, the room was a comfortable size for two, which is pretty good. From the Silver Clock exit, it’s about a five-minute walk, with two convenience stores on the way. Breakfast is simple and included for guests.

I liked the location and breakfast, and there was enough room to open two suitcases fully. The cups weren’t very clean, though, and the bathroom drain had a few issues.

It’s under a 10-minute walk from Nagoya main station, so access is easy. The room has new decor, and I was surprised by how spacious the toilet was, a little bigger than a typical one in Japan. Breakfast is free, with a good range of Japanese and Western food.
