Ixyz mori

The morning light came through the curtains earlier than we wanted, so darker ones would’ve helped. Aside from that, the Nagoya Ixyz Mori apartment was fantastic for our family, and I’d absolutely stay again if I return to Nagoya. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, with cozy heated floors, and Nagoya Station is about a 15-minute walk away. There were lots of food options around the station, which was a lifesaver during the New Year holiday when most restaurants were closed. The apartment had everything we needed, plus extras like a hair straightener we didn’t use.

A good place for families, but the parking only fits a small sedan, so take care if you’re driving a large car. The road to the entrance is only about 3 metres wide.

There aren’t many restaurants nearby, and the convenience stores are a bit far, but Nagoya Station is just one stop away. We could eat and pick things up before heading back, and the B&B has all the tableware. It really felt like a place we’ll miss, and we’d happily return to Nagoya and stay again. We were five people: our elderly parents, our two-and-a-half-year-old, and us. Everyone was comfortable, adults and child alike. There were toys for the little ones, and my daughter didn’t want to leave. The B&B was exceptionally clean, brighter and more comfortable-looking than the photos, with wood tones upstairs and a small walkway linking the two rooms. There’s also a rooftop patio, and the natural light was so relaxing when we woke up. We stayed three nights and appreciated having a washer and dryer, with laundry detergent included. It made getting home with laundry much easier. The place is well run. One thing to watch for: the first-floor living room has a lot of stairs, which could be tricky for young children or older people with mobility issues. For our family, though, it was perfect.

We went with the kids for dinner, then headed home in the evening. The sukiyaki was delicious: the highest quality Kuroge Wagyu beef from Sugimoto, a long-established meat wholesaler in Nagoya, with the meat and vegetables prepared in the room fridge for our reservation time. The rice cooker was timed too, so the room smelled wonderful when we arrived and the rice was freshly cooked. Ixyz Mori is a Japanese-style inn where you can rent the whole building, so you’re with family or friends rather than sharing a private room with others. It’s a 10-minute walk from Nagoya Station, and day-use plans are available if you don’t want to stay overnight. The facilities were excellent, and it felt so comfortable and luxurious, almost like being at home. You could bring just your clothes for a longer stay. There was a TV and even a Nintendo Switch. You can book for two or more people. Thanks for a lovely experience!
