Nishitetsu Hotel Croom Nagoya

The public bath was a nice way to unwind after sightseeing, and the room, though a little tight for two, was laid out well. Getting around was easy: the hotel is right in the city center, close to the metro, and Nagoya TV Tower, Oasis 21, and Nagoya Castle are walkable or a short ride away. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores nearby, too. Check-in was quick through the self-service system, and the automated parking made arriving by car simple. A handy, well-located base.

I really enjoyed staying here and would happily come back. The staff were friendly and ready to help, the room looked classy and was thoughtfully arranged, and the food at Restaurant Lounge was delicious, especially the scrambled eggs. In room 1010, the lamp switches were sensibly placed, with clear symbols on the headboard panel. The cleaning and do-not-disturb magnets were useful, and the different-colored key cards for men's and women's onsen access were a nice touch. I also loved the face and hand foam combined in one bottle by the sink, plus the fabric and air freshener. A few things could be better: there's not much room for luggage, and the metal tissue box rattles when you pull one out. The bathroom has nowhere to hang clothes or a towel, which felt awkward when sharing with someone who isn't family or a close friend. The outdoor onsen has two comfortable sloped tubs for lying back, but the water sits too low, leaving your chest, stomach, and other parts exposed to the cold. Please consider raising it. Those are all my suggestions. I'd love to visit again.

The hotel itself was great, with helpful receptionists, a comfortable room, and a nice onsen. But the Coin Laundry was a terrible experience. We spent nearly 3000 yen, and our clothes came out not dry and, worse, damaged. There are six poorly maintained washing machines, so I can see why the laundry room says there's no refund unless the machine malfunctions. Honestly, it seems like plenty of guests have probably asked for their money back. I'd avoid the hotel's laundry and use one outside instead.

The hotel is new and clean, with a decent-sized room and a nice onsen. Breakfast has a reasonable selection, including a few Nagoya specialties worth trying, like unagi rice, mentaiko, and red bean toast. Sakae's shops, restaurants, and department stores are all an easy walk away.
