A traditional Japanese place to eat and stay, at an affordable price.

good

Dinner was a real treat, both delicious and a memorable first experience of authentic kaiseki for me. The service and food were amazing, and breakfast was tasty too. The room was very clean, with a lovely tatami smell. Sharing the bathroom and toilet didn't bother me. When we got back from dinner, my futon was already set out. It was soft and comfortable, and my friend, who'd said she'd stay up chatting, fell asleep as soon as she lay down.

The staff were kind, and they even gave the kids free meals and yukata. For two adults and two children, breakfast and dinner included, the bill was just over 30,000 yen, so it felt like good value. The location was perfect for the Tomica Expo at Fukiage Hall. Meals were good, and the futon was small but we made it work. The hotel is very old: there's no elevator, the hallway floors seem to sag, wallpaper is peeling, and the room hair dryer is dented. Wi-Fi is available, but YouTube won't play on the TV. The air conditioner was new, while the air purifier was moldy and didn't humidify. The bathroom was tiny, almost like a family bath, and I slipped and hurt myself there, so be careful. There's no toilet in the room and no hot water. There was one shared bathroom for women and two for men, but with so few guests it wasn't an issue.
