Toyoko Inn Nagoya Marunouchi

The mattress was really hard, though the room itself was clean and comfortable. Getting there means a 20-minute walk from the station, which is fine in pleasant weather and much less appealing when it’s cold and dark. Breakfast comes with the stay, but it’s basic and short on choices. It felt like a very average hotel, so I’d probably try somewhere else next time I’m in Nagoya.

It’s only minutes from Nagoya castle, and there are small eateries just a minute’s walk away. I found it a fantastic location and great value, and I’d definitely come back. The room and beds were very comfortable, everything was super clean, and the simple breakfast was delicious. Service was delightful, with quick check-in and check-out. I highly recommend it.

Getting to Nagoya station is easy with the hotel’s free shuttle, which you can reserve at the front desk. The desk staff were accommodating, and checkout was simple: just drop off the keycards.

The hotel has good access to Nagoya castle and a free bus, but it’s not close to Nagoya station, so calling it near the station would be a mistake. Breakfast was disappointing because they ran short on food. At 8 am the bread and fried chicken were gone, and by 8:30 many other items were out too.
