The owners make the place feel especially welcoming, and they seem happy to accommodate most requests. It's a recently renovated hiker's lodging, with beds that feel a bit firm. For the low price, though, that tradeoff makes sense. Weekdays, even Sunday nights, are best if you want a quiet stay and a chance to chat freely.

After a long stretch of exam studying, I dropped in on a whim just to unwind. They welcomed me so kindly, even though I decided at the last minute to stay the night. The room and bed were spotless and clearly freshly renovated. I'd love to come back!
I arrived in Okutama without a plan and they picked me up. The owner and everyone at the inn were so kind, and they made it a wonderful night. Thanks so much for the fried chicken and rice. I'll be back!
They even let us leave our luggage for free, which was a big help. The owner was incredibly friendly, and for such a small backpacker hostel, it was a nice surprise to find a little bathtub too.
The place was excellent quality and had no unpleasant smells. The owner was very welcoming, and didn't charge me extra to keep my luggage overnight.
