Trip & Sleep Hostel

The service was excellent, with friendly, helpful staff, and we appreciated the free tea and coffee and access to hot showers. We stayed as a group of five in a private room. It was a bit small, but perfectly fine as a place to sleep, and the beds were comfortable. The room felt cozy and clean. The bathrooms and showers are shared, like in most hostels, but they stayed clean and well-maintained throughout our visit. A simple, clean, affordable place for a group. We'd definitely consider staying again.

My main complaint was the bag-holding setup. They just put your bag with all your stuff by the front door, often with no attendant there. This is Japan, so I wasn't worried about someone walking in and grabbing it, but I've dealt with hostel thieves before and felt uneasy. Nothing was stolen, though, so use it at your own risk. The dorm beds have curtains for decent privacy, and the staff are super nice. The shower pressure was great for cooling off during my summer visit. The common room was okay, nothing special, and people didn't really chat with one another, so it depends what you like. It also closes from 12-4.

A quaint but nice place right at Osu, with a great location. The bunk beds have lockers for valuables, and everything was clean and well maintained. The energetic host greeted me, and I had no trouble during my stay. Toilets and bathrooms are mixed use. There's even a "Where's waldo" puzzle in the toilet to keep you occupied, which I thought was a cute detail lol. It seems to be very popular.

The location is unbeatable, just steps from a shopping street and easy to get to everything we needed. After a long drive from Kobe, the English-speaking staff greeted us warmly. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were a family of four, and the kids especially loved the bunk beds. We ate our convenience-store dinner in the communal lounge. The unisex shower rooms were clean and functional. I wasn't sure about them at first, but they turned out just fine. It was our first hostel experience, and to our surprise it was incredibly quiet, with respectful guests. There was complimentary coffee and tea, and we could fill our water bottle in the kitchen. The rooms felt secure, with double doors and a unique passcode for each guest. Making our own beds was simple. Fresh towels were ¥100 each, and the self-service laundry was ¥400 per load, which was very convenient. A great stay at Trip and Sleep Hostel.
