The location was a plus, with Lawson, Seven Eleven, and a very nice cafe downstairs, plus a 5 to 10 minute walk to Yuirail Station and Kokusaidori Street. From the 6/F, the view over Songenji Park was nice. I stayed three nights in the Retreat, in a twin room with a small kitchen and corner bathroom with a bathtub. The room was ready and tidy when I checked in around 15:30 using the password sent through Airbnb messages. It was less spacious than I expected, though the furnishings and amenities were all there and average quality. A few things were frustrating. The password entry was finicky throughout the stay, even after several tries. The bedside lamp didn’t work, and the TV remote ran out of battery partway through. Staff answered messages promptly but couldn’t provide actual help. The tub stopper was hard to open and close, and the shower pressure was weak. On windy nights, the emergency back door shook and made noise. It wasn’t a major problem, but it did affect my sleep.
We booked two nights in October 2024, and the staff were courteous, but broken amenities and the limited support left us disappointed. On the first night we were in The Dining, where the air conditioner was broken. With no windows or proper ventilation, it got unbearably hot and there was no air circulation, so we couldn’t sleep. We reported it to management, but at that late hour staff said they couldn’t do anything and suggested leaving at 11 p.m. to find somewhere else, with a refund if we chose to go. We stayed and had a sleepless night. The next day we moved to The Theatre Room. Its AC worked, but the Wi-Fi and TV didn’t at first, and sorting that out took me 30 minutes. The laundry machine was broken as well, which was inconvenient. After returning home, I asked for a 50% refund for the disrupted night. They gave us 30%, which felt inadequate given how uncomfortable we’d been and the sleep we lost. I’d only recommend staying if they improve maintenance and how they respond to guest problems.
We spent a weeklong staycation in the ‘Library’ room and really liked how much space it had. It was clean and had everything we needed, and the room felt both homey and suitable for two of us to focus on work. The location made it easy to reach lots of nearby restaurants. There’s only one unit per floor, so it also felt very private.

I was at the Library for two nights, and having a convenience store across the street was handy. I got the room cheaply, so I can see why someone might accept the tradeoffs, but I wouldn't stay again. The PIN email hadn't arrived by the day I was due to check in. I wrote to the address on the official website and got no answer, then finally heard back after contacting the address in the Rakuten plan details. I booked through Yahoo! Travel. The operating company seems to have changed several times, and the website isn't up to date. The room also had fewer amenities than the photos suggested. The cleaning was quite sloppy, and there was no bath mat. The bathroom light was too dim for putting on makeup. I was looking forward to the massage chair, but its strength couldn't be adjusted and it hurt too much. The washing machine was also very hard to operate. That's about it, hmm.
