The location is great, and the information was very helpful. The room is large enough for 5-6 people. There’s a big sofa that converts into a bed, so there are 3 double beds in total. The air conditioner wasn’t clean, though they said they would clean it. Still, it’s a comfortable villa with a large room for families or groups.

Right by the lake and bus stop, so the location was fantastic. Check-in was easy to figure out, and there was enough room for our family of four. Amenities like towels and shampoo were provided.

The location was very good, though a bit pricey. The room itself was comfortable, but the lower room felt like a basement. It had a coffee machine, but only a limited supply for making coffee. The owner didn’t speak English well, so it was difficult to discuss what to do with our luggage.

The location by the lake is perfect, and the beds were comfortable. The wifi was good too. The room was spacious and reasonably clean, but several things made the stay uncomfortable. The shower kept switching suddenly from cold to hot, and the weak hair dryer couldn’t dry my hair properly. The toilet smelled, and its ventilation made such a horrible noise that I couldn’t use it. The lighting was poor, and the A/C barely heated the room, so it was cold at night. The door lock uses a code, but you have to fiddle with the door to get it to open. The first time, I panicked and thought I’d entered the wrong code. I hope these issues get fixed for future guests.

We slept well. It was very quiet at night, and in the morning it was nice watching the street come alive. There are plenty of souvenir shops around, plus a nearby mini mart if you’re caught out and a Chinese restaurant where you can get a quick, good meal. Most places to eat in Hakone close early, so plan dinner ahead. For the price, it was good value. The old building has modern apartment amenities, including 2 double beds, 2 sofa beds, a complete mini kitchen, and a washing machine. Contactless check-in meant we didn’t have to rush to make a deadline. The bus from Odawara stops just 1 min away, and the jetty for the pirate ship on Lake Ashi is a 5 min walk across the road.
